VALLE NEVADO TO LAUNCH THE FIRST SKI RESORT GONDOLA IN CHILE

This project, unique in its class and slated for official inauguration this coming season, is part of the ski center’s larger investment plan to become the most self-sufficient “mountain village” in the country.

The first ski resort gondola in the country, which is one of the most emblematic of Valle Nevado’s projects, and one that is sure to set the tone for further positioning of Chile as a world-class winter destination, is already a reality. The gondola is just one of the innovative new features that Valle Nevado will unveil this season and that will help us make our guests’ experience more exceptional than ever.

The new chairlift has capacity for six people in each unit and travels approximately 1,000 meters, allowing passengers to travel from the Service Area located at Curve 17 to the Bajo Zero restaurant set mid-mountain at 3,200 meters.

The completion of the gondola marks one more stage in the US$ 190 million development project that Valle Nevado began in 2009. To date, the resort has invested roughly US$ 16 million toward the expansion and improvement of its trails, hotels and other real estate ventures.
