Ischgl / Austria: New PIZ VAL GRONDA E5 Arial TramwayPROJECT DESCRIPTION: The entire project planning for site 150-ATW Piz Val Gronda took account of technical specifications as well as ecological issues such as planning adapted to the site and use of available infrastructure. Construction of the tramway involves applying the most careful approach in terms of protecting the landscape and ecosystem. Only 2 support sites are required and no cable trench is required along the route. Both of the stations will feature an open style of construction. The mountain and valley stations will be as compact as possible and will fit into the landscape as much as possible. 2 supports will be required along the route. The first support of approx. 90 m high will be located approx. 462 m (cable length) after the valley station and the second support of approx. 64 m high will be based approx. 388 m before the mountain station. The emergency operating concept for the site will enable the tramway to be emptied of passengers in the event of a breakdown (emergency, power cut, technical defect) using 2 independent emergency drive systems. It is therefore highly unlikely that passengers will ever have to be rescued from the cabins. In accordance with the concept for maximising avalanche protection for the construction of the 150-ATW Piz Val Gronda, 8 avalanche trigger masts are required but no avalanche protection structures to protect the ski piste. Altitude of valley station: 2,295.00 m NEW SKI PISTE NO. 42 WITH IMPROVEMENT OF SKI PISTE NO. 41: Length: approx. 3 km MILESTONES 150-ATW PIZ VAL GRONDA 19.09.2012 |
